6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
6:1 "사람들에게 보이려고 그들 앞에서 자선을 베풀지 않도록 조심하라. 그렇지 아니하면 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 상을 받지 못하리라.
6:2 Therefore when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6:2 그러므로 너는 자선을 베풀 때에 위선자들이 사람들에게 영광을 얻으려고 회당과 거리에서 하는 것처럼 네 앞에서 나팔을 불지 말라. 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 그들은 그들의 상을 받은 것이니라.
6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
6:3 그러나 네가 자선을 베풀 때에는 네 오른손이 하는 것을 왼손이 모르게 하라.
6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
6:4 그리하면 너의 자선 행위가 은밀히 되어져서 은밀히 보시는 네 아버지께서 친히 너에게 드러나게 갚아 주시리라.
6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites [are]: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6:5 또 네가 기도할 때에 위선자들같이 되지 말라. 그들은 사람들에게 보이려고 회당 안에서와 길 모퉁이에 서서 기도하기를 좋아하느니라. 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 그들은 그들의 상을 받은 것이니라.
6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
6:6 그러나 너는 기도할 때에 너의 골방에 들어가 방문을 닫고 은밀히 계신 네 아버지께 기도하라. 그러면 은밀히 보시는 네 아버지께서 너에게 드러나게 갚아 주시리라.
6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
6:7 너희는 기도할 때에 이교도들이 하는 것처럼 헛된 반복을 하지 말라. 이는 그들이 말을 많이 하여야 들으실 줄로 생각함이라.
6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
6:8 그러므로 너희는 그들을 닮지 말라. 이는 너희가 구하기 전에 너희 아버지께서는 너희가 무엇을 필요로 하는지 아심이라.
6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
6:9 그러므로 너희는 이렇게 기도하라. '하늘에 계신 우리 아버지, 아버지의 이름이 거룩하게 되옵시고
6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.
6:10 아버지의 왕국이 임하옵시며, 아버지의 뜻이 하늘에서와 같이 땅에서도 이루어지이다.
6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
6:11 오늘 우리에게 일용할 양식을 주옵시고
6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
6:12 우리가 우리에게 빚진 자를 용서해 준 것같이 우리의 빚진 것도 용서해 주옵시며
6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
6:13 우리를 시험에 들지 않게 하옵시고, 악에서 구하여 주옵소서. 그 왕국과 권세와 영광이 영원토록 아버지의 것이옵니다. 아멘.'
6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
6:14 만일 너희가 사람들의 허물을 용서하면 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서도 너희를 용서하실 것이니라.
6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
6:15 그러나 만일 너희가 사람들의 허물을 용서하지 아니하면 너희 아버지께서도 너희의 허물을 용서하지 아니하실 것이니라.
6:16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6:16 또 너희가 금식할 때에 위선자들처럼 슬픈 표정을 짓지 말라. 그들은 사람들에게 금식하는 것을 보이려고 그들의 얼굴을 흉하게 하느니라. 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 그들은 그들의 상을 받은 것이니라.
6:17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
6:17 그러나 너는 금식할 때에 머리에 기름을 바르고 얼굴을 씻으라.
6:18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
6:18 그리하여 네가 금식하는 것을 사람들에게 보이지 말고 은밀히 계시는 네 아버지께만 보이게 하라. 은밀히 보시는 네 아버지께서 너에게 드러나게 갚아 주시리라.
6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
6:19 너희 자신을 위하여 땅에다 보물을 쌓아 두지 말라. 거기는 좀이나 녹이 해치며, 또 거기는 도둑들이 뚫고 들어와서 도둑질하느니라.
6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
6:20 오히려 너희 자신을 위하여 하늘에다 보물을 쌓아 두라. 거기는 좀이나 녹이 해치지도 않으며, 또 거기는 도둑들이 뚫고 들어오지도 못하고 도둑질도 못하느니라.
6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
6:21 너희 보물이 있는 곳에 너희 마음도 있느니라.
6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
6:22 몸의 빛은 눈이라. 그러므로 네 눈이 순전하면 네 온 몸이 빛으로 가득 찰 것이요
6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great [is] that darkness!
6:23 만일 네 눈이 악하면 네 온 몸도 어두움으로 가득 찰 것이라. 그러므로 네 안에 있는 빛이 어두우면 그 어두움이 얼마나 크겠느냐?
6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
6:24 아무도 두 주인을 섬길 수 없나니, 이는 그가 한 쪽을 미워하고 다른 쪽을 사랑하거나, 한 쪽을 존중하고 다른 쪽을 업신여기기 때문이라. 너희가 하나님과 재물을 동시에 섬길 수 없느니라.
6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
6:25 그러므로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 너희 목숨을 위하여 무엇을 먹을까, 무엇을 마실까, 또 몸을 위하여 무엇을 입을까 염려하지 말라. 목숨이 음식보다 중요하지 아니하며 몸이 의복보다 중요하지 아니하냐?
6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
6:26 공중의 새들을 보라. 새들은 씨앗을 뿌리지도 않고, 거두지도 않으며, 곡물창고에 모아 들이지 않아도 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서 기르시나니, 너희들이 새들보다 더 귀하지 아니하냐?
6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
6:27 또 너희 가운데 누가 염려함으로 자기 키를 한 큐빗이나 더 늘릴 수 있겠느냐?
6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
6:28 또 어찌하여 너희는 의복에 대해서 염려하느냐? 들의 백합화가 어떻게 자라는지 유의해 보라. 그것들은 수고도 아니하며 길쌈도 아니하느니라.
6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
6:29 내가 너희에게 말하노니 모든 영광을 누릴 때의 솔로몬도 이 들꽃 하나만 같지 못하였느니라.
6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith?
6:30 오늘 있다가 내일 아궁이에 던져질 들풀도 하나님께서 이처럼 입히시거늘, 오 너희 믿음이 적은 자들아, 그 분께서 너희를 더욱더 잘 입히지 아니하시겠느냐?
6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
6:31 그러므로 무엇을 먹을까, 무엇을 마실까, 또 무엇을 입을까 하고 말하며 염려하지 말라.
6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
6:32 (이런 것들은 모두 이방인들이 구하는 것이라.) 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서는 너희에게 이런 모든 것이 필요한 줄 아시느니라.
6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
6:33 오직 너희는 먼저 하나님의 나라와 그 분의 의를 구하라. 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더해 주시리라.
6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof.
6:34 그러므로 내일을 위하여 염려하지 말라. 내일 일은 내일 염려할 것이요, 그 날의 재앙은 그 날로 충분하니라."
