4:1 Masters, render unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.
4:1 Masters, grant to your slaves justice and fairness, knowing that you too have a Master in heaven.

4:2 Continue stedfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving;

4:3 withal praying for us also, that God may open unto us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds;

4:4 that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

4:7 All my affairs shall Tychicus make known unto you, the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow-servant in the Lord:

4:8 whom I have sent you for this very purpose, that ye may know our state, and that he may comfort your hearts;
4:8 For I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know [ about] our circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts;

4:9 together with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things that (are done) here.
4:9 and with him Onesimus, [our] faithful and beloved brother, who is one of your [number.] They will inform you about the whole situation here.

4:10 Aristarchus my fellow-prisoner saluteth you, and Mark, the cousin of Barnabas (touching whom ye received commandments; if he come unto you, receive him),
4:10 Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, sends you his greetings; and [also] Barnabas' cousin Mark (about whom you received instructions: if he comes to you, welcome him);

4:11 and Jesus that is called Justus, who are of the circumcision: these only (are my) fellow-workers unto the kingdom of God, men that have been a comfort unto me.
4:11 and [also] Jesus who is called Justus; these are the only fellow workers for the kingdom of God who are from the circumcision; and they have proved to be an encouragement to me.

4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you, always striving for you in his prayers, that ye may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.
4:12 Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.

4:13 For I bear him witness, that he hath much labor for you, and for them in Laodicea, and for them in Hierapolis.
4:13 For I bear him witness that he has a deep concern for you and for those who are in Laodicea and Hierapolis.

4:14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas salute you.
4:14 Luke, the beloved physician, sends you his greetings, and [also] Demas.

4:15 Salute the brethren that are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church that is in their house.
4:15 Greet the brethren who are in Laodicea and also Nympha and the church that is in her house.

4:16 And when this epistle hath been read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye also read the epistle from Laodicea.
4:16 And when this letter is read among you, have it also read in the church of the Laodiceans; and you, for your part read my letter [that is coming] from Laodicea.

4:17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
4:17 And say to Archippus, "Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it."

4:18 The salutation of me Paul with mine own hand. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you.
4:18 I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. Remember my imprisonment. Grace be with you.
