12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who standeth for the children of thy people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
12:1 "Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands [guard] over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued.

12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
12:2 "And many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace [and] everlasting contempt.

12:3 And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
12:3 "And those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
12:4 "But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase."

12:5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on the brink of the river on this side, and the other on the brink of the river on that side.
12:5 Then I, Daniel, looked and behold, two others were standing, one on this bank of the river, and the other on that bank of the river.

12:6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
12:6 And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, "How long [will it be] until the end of [these] wonders?"

12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when they have made an end of breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
12:7 And I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half [ a time;] and as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these [events] will be completed.

12:8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my lord, what shall be the issue of these things?
12:8 As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, "My lord, what [will be] the outcome of these [events?]"

12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel; for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end.
12:9 And he said, "Go [your way,] Daniel, for [these] words are concealed and sealed up until the end time.

12:10 Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but they that are wise shall understand.
12:10 "Many will be purged, purified and refined; but the wicked will act wickedly, and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.

12:11 And from the time that the continual (burnt-offering) shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand and two hundred and ninety days.
12:11 "And from the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished, and the abomination of desolation is set up, [there will be] 12900 days.

12:12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
12:12 "How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 13355 days!

12:13 But go thou thy way till the end be; for thou shalt rest, and shalt stand in thy lot, at the end of the days.
12:13 "But as for you, go [your way] to the end; then you will enter into rest and rise [again] for your allotted portion at the end of the age."
