32:1 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
32:1 Then these three men ceased answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
32:2 Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.
32:2 But the anger of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram burned; against Job his anger burned, because he justified himself before God.
32:3 Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.
32:3 And his anger burned against his three friends because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.
32:4 Now Elihu had waited to speak unto Job, because they were elder than he.
32:4 Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job because they were years older than he.
32:5 And when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was kindled.
32:5 And when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of the three men his anger burned.
32:6 And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; Wherefore I held back, and durst not show you mine opinion.
32:6 So Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite spoke out and said, "I am young in years and you are old; Therefore I was shy and afraid to tell you what I think.
32:7 I said, Days should speak, And multitude of years should teach wisdom.
32:7 "I thought age should speak, And increased years should teach wisdom.
32:8 But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
32:8 "But it is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding.
32:9 It is not the great that are wise, Nor the aged that understand justice.
32:9 "The abundant [in years] may not be wise, Nor may elders understand justice.
32:10 Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will show mine opinion.
32:10 "So I say, 'Listen to me, I too will tell what I think.'
32:11 Behold, I waited for your words, I listened for your reasonings, Whilst ye searched out what to say.
32:11 "Behold, I waited for your words, I listened to your reasonings, While you pondered what to say.
32:12 Yea, I attended unto you, And, behold, there was none that convinced Job, Or that answered his words, among you.
32:12 "I even paid close attention to you, Indeed, there was no one who refuted Job, Not one of you who answered his words.
32:13 Beware lest ye say, We have found wisdom; God may vanquish him, not man:
32:13 "Do not say, 'We have found wisdom; God will rout him, not man.'
32:14 For he hath not directed his words against me; Neither will I answer him with your speeches.
32:14 "For he has not arranged [his] words against me; Nor will I reply to him with your arguments.
32:15 They are amazed, they answer no more: They have not a word to say.
32:15 "They are dismayed, they answer no more; Words have failed them.
32:16 And shall I wait, because they speak not, Because they stand still, and answer no more?
32:16 "And shall I wait, because they do not speak, Because they stop [and] answer no more?
32:17 I also will answer my part, I also will show mine opinion.
32:17 "I too will answer my share, I also will tell my opinion.
32:18 For I am full of words; The spirit within me constraineth me.
32:18 "For I am full of words; The spirit within me constrains me.
32:19 Behold, my breast is as wine which hath no vent; Like new wine-skins it is ready to burst.
32:19 "Behold, my belly is like unvented wine, Like new wineskins it is about to burst.
32:20 I will speak, that I may be refreshed; I will open my lips and answer.
32:20 "Let me speak that I may get relief; Let me open my lips and answer.
32:21 Let me not, I pray you, respect any man's person; Neither will I give flattering titles unto any man.
32:21 "Let me now be partial to no one; Nor flatter [any] man.
32:22 For I know not to give flattering titles; (Else) would my Maker soon take me away.
32:22 "For I do not know how to flatter, [Else] my Maker would soon take me away.
