76:1 [For the music director; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.]
God is known in Judah;
His name is great in Israel.
76:2 His ①tabernacle is in Salem;
His dwelling place also is in Zion.

76:3 There He broke the ①flaming arrows,
The shield, the sword, and the ②weapons of war. Selah
▷ ①Lit fiery shafts of the bow ②Lit battle
76:4 You are resplendent,
①More majestic than the mountains of prey.
▷ ①Or Majestic from the mountains
76:5 The stouthearted were plundered,
①They sank into sleep;
And none of the ②warriors could use his hands.
▷ ①Lit They slumbered their sleep ②Lit men of might have found their hands
76:6 At Your rebuke, God of Jacob,
Both ①rider and horse were cast into a dead sleep.

76:7 You, You indeed are to be feared,
And who may stand in Your presence, ①once You are angry?

76:8 You caused judgment to be heard from heaven;
The earth feared and was still
76:9 When God arose to judgment,
To save all the humble of the earth. Selah
76:10 For the ①wrath of mankind shall praise You;
You will encircle Yourself with a remnant of wrath.

76:11 Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them;
All who are around Him are to bring gifts to Him who is to be feared.
76:12 He will cut off the spirit of princes;
He is ①feared by the kings of the earth.
