21:1 But Job answered and said,
21:1 그러나 욥이 대답하여 말하기를
21:2 Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
21:2 "너희는 내 말을 잘 듣고 이것이 너희의 위로가 되게 하라.
21:3 Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.
21:3 내가 말하도록 용납하고 내가 말한 후에 조롱하라.
21:4 As for me, [is] my complaint to man? and if [it were so], why should not my spirit be troubled?
21:4 나로 말하면, 나의 불평이 사람에게냐? 만일 그렇다면 어찌하여 내 영이 불안하지 아니하겠느냐?
21:5 Mark me, and be astonished, and lay [your] hand upon [your] mouth.
21:5 나를 보고 놀라라. 그리고 너희 손을 너희 입에 갖다 대라.
21:6 Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.
21:6 내가 생각만 해도 무서우며 떨림이 내 몸을 붙잡는도다.
21:7 Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
21:7 어찌하여 악인이 살고, 늙도록 살며, 정녕, 권력이 막강해지느냐?
21:8 Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
21:8 그들의 자손이 그들의 목전에서 그들과 함께 굳게 서고 그들의 후손도 그들의 눈 앞에서 그러하도다.
21:9 Their houses [are] safe from fear, neither [is] the rod of God upon them.
21:9 그들의 집은 두려움에서 벗어나 안전하며 그들 위에는 하나님의 막대기도 없도다.
21:10 Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
21:10 그들의 수소는 틀림없이 새끼를 배게 하고, 암소는 새끼를 낳으며 낙태하지 않는도다.
21:11 They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
21:11 그들은 양떼같이 어린 것들을 내보내며 그들의 자녀들은 춤추는도다.
21:12 They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.
21:12 그들은 탬버린과 하프를 들고 오르간 소리에 즐거워하는도다.
21:13 They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
21:13 그들은 그들의 날들을 부유하게 보내다가 순식간에 음부로 내려가는도다.
21:14 Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
21:14 그러므로 그들이 하나님께 말하기를 '우리를 떠나가소서. 우리가 주의 길의 지식을 기뻐하지 아니하나이다.
21:15 What [is] the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
21:15 전능하신 분이 누구기에 우리가 그를 섬겨야 하리이까? 우리가 그 분께 기도한들 무슨 유익을 얻으리이까?' 하는도다.
21:16 Lo, their good [is] not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
21:16 보라, 그들의 복이 그들의 손에 있지 아니하며, 악인의 계획은 내게 멀리 있도다.
21:17 How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and [how oft] cometh their destruction upon them! [God] distributeth sorrows in his anger.
21:17 악인의 촛불이 얼마나 자주 꺼지랴? 그들의 멸망이 그들에게 얼마나 자주 임하랴? 하나님께서는 그 분의 진노 속에서 슬픔을 나눠 주시는도다.
21:18 They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.
21:18 그들은 바람 앞에 그루터기 같고 폭풍에 휩쓸려가는 쭉정이 같도다.
21:19 God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know [it].
21:19 하나님은 그의 자녀들을 위해 그의 죄악을 쌓아 두셨다가 그에게 보상하시니, 그가 그것을 알게 되리라.
21:20 His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
21:20 그는 자기 눈으로 자기의 멸망을 볼 것이요 전능하신 분의 진노를 마시게 되리라.
21:21 For what pleasure [hath] he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
21:21 그의 달 수가 중간에 끊기면 그가 없는 그의 집에 무슨 기쁨이 있겠느냐?
21:22 Shall [any] teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.
21:22 그 분은 높은 데 있는 자들을 심판하시나니, 누가 하나님께 지식을 가르치겠느냐?
21:23 One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
21:23 어떤 사람은 기력이 왕성할 때 아주 평안하고 안락한 가운데 죽나니
21:24 His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
21:24 그의 가슴은 젖으로 가득 차고 그의 뼈는 골수로 차 있으며
21:25 And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.
21:25 또 어떤 사람은 자기 혼의 쓰라림 속에서 죽으며 기쁨으로 먹지 못하는도다.
21:26 They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
21:26 그들이 다 같이 흙 속에 눕고 벌레들이 그들을 덮는도다.
21:27 Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices [which] ye wrongfully imagine against me.
21:27 보라, 내가 너희의 생각을 알고 너희가 나를 거역하려고 그릇되이 구상한 계략을 아노라.
21:28 For ye say, Where [is] the house of the prince? and where [are] the dwelling places of the wicked?
21:28 너희가 말하기를 '통치자의 집이 어디 있느냐? 악인의 거처가 어디 있느냐?' 하는도다.
21:29 Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,
21:29 너희는 길 가는 사람에게 묻지 아니하였느냐? 너희는 그들의 표식을 모르느냐?
21:30 That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
21:30 즉 악인이 멸망의 날까지 보존되는 것을 알지 못하느냐? 그들은 진노의 날에 불려 나가게 되리라.
21:31 Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him [what] he hath done?
21:31 누가 그의 길을 그의 면전에 선포하랴? 누가 그가 행한 것을 그에게 갚아주랴?
21:32 Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
21:32 그러나 그는 무덤으로 데려가져서 묘지에 남게 되리라.
21:33 The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as [there are] innumerable before him.
21:33 골짜기의 흙덩어리가 그에게는 달겠고 그보다 앞서 간 자들이 무수한 것같이 모든 사람이 그를 뒤따르리라.
21:34 How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth falsehood?
21:34 너희의 대답 속에 거짓이 남아 있음을 보는데, 너희가 어찌 나를 헛되이 위로하려느나? " 하니라.
