14:1 So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.
14:1 그리하여 아비야가 그의 조상들과 함께 잠드니, 그들이 그를 다윗 성읍에 장사하였고 그의 아들 아사가 그를 대신하여 왕이 되니라. 그의 날에 그 땅이 십 년 간 조용하였더라.
14:2 And Asa did [that which was] good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:
14:2 아사가 주 그의 하나님의 눈에 선하고 의로운 것을 행하였으니
14:3 For he took away the altars of the strange [gods], and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:
14:3 그가 이방 신들의 제단들과 산당들을 제거하고, 형상들을 부수며, 아세라들을 찍어 없앴고
14:4 And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.
14:4 유다에 명하여 그들 조상의 주 하나님을 찾게 하며 율법과 계명을 행하게 하였더라.
14:5 Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.
14:5 그가 또한 유다의 모든 성읍에서 산당들과 형상들을 제거하니, 왕국이 그의 앞에서 조용하였더라.
14:6 And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest.
14:6 그가 유다에 성벽을 두른 성읍들을 세웠으니, 이는 주께서 그에게 안식을 주심으로 그 땅이 안식하였고 수 년 동안 전쟁이 없었음이더라.
14:7 Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about [them] walls, and towers, gates, and bars, [while] the land [is] yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought [him], and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.
14:7 그러므로 아사가 유다에게 말하기를 "이 땅이 아직 우리 앞에 있을 때 우리가 이 성읍들을 세우고 성읍들 주위에 성벽들과 망대들과 성문들과 빗장들을 만들자. 이는 우리가 주 우리의 하나님을 찾고 또 찾았으므로 그 분께서 우리에게 사면에 안식을 주셨음이라." 하더라. 그리하여 그들이 그것들을 세웠으며 번영하였더라.
14:8 And Asa had an army [of men] that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these [were] mighty men of valour.
14:8 아사에게 큰 방패와 작은 방패를 든 군대가 있었으니 유다에서 삼십만이요, 베냐민에서 작은 방패를 들고 활을 당기는 자가 이십팔만이더라. 이들 모두가 용사들이더라.
14:9 And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.
14:9 에디오피아인 세라가 그들을 치려고 일백만 군대와 병거 삼백을 대동하고 와서 마레사에 이르자
14:10 Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
14:10 아사가 그를 치러 나가니, 그들이 마레사에 있는 스바다 골짜기에 전열을 가다듬었더라.
14:11 And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, [it is] nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou [art] our God; let not man prevail against thee.
14:11 아사가 주 그의 하나님께 부르짖어 말하기를 "오 주여, 그들의 수가 많든지 그들에게 힘이 없든지, 주께서 도와 주시는 데는 아무 것도 아니니이다. 주 우리 하나님이여, 우리를 도우소서. 이는 우리가 주를 의지하며 주의 이름으로 이 무리를 대적하러 감이니이다. 오 주여, 주는 우리의 하나님이시니, 아무도 주를 이기지 못하게 하소서." 하더라.
14:12 So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.
14:12 이에 주께서 아사와 유다 앞에서 에디오피아인들을 치셨으니, 에디오피아인들이 도망하더라.
14:13 And Asa and the people that [were] with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.
14:13 아사와 그와 함께한 백성이 그들을 그랄까지 추격하자 에디오피아인들이 패하여 스스로 회복할 수 없게 되었으니, 이는 그들이 주와 그의 군대 앞에서 패망하였음이더라. 그들이 심히 많은 탈취물을 가져가니라.
14:14 And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.
14:14 백성이 그랄 주위의 모든 성읍들을 쳤으니, 이는 주를 두려워함이 그들 위에 임하였음이라. 또 백성이 모든 성읍을 약탈하였으니, 이는 그 안에 심히 많은 탈취물이 있었음이더라.
14:15 They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.
14:15 백성이 가축의 장막들도 쳐서 양과 낙타를 많이 이끌고 예루살렘으로 돌아왔더라.
14:1 그리하여 아비야가 그의 조상들과 함께 잠드니, 그들이 그를 다윗 성읍에 장사하였고 그의 아들 아사가 그를 대신하여 왕이 되니라. 그의 날에 그 땅이 십 년 간 조용하였더라.
