13:1 In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] seventeen years.
13:1 유다의 아하시야왕의 아들 요아스 제 이십삼년에 예후의 아들 여호아하스가 사마리아에서 이스라엘을 치리하기 시작하여 십칠 년 간 치리하니라.
13:2 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.
13:2 여호아하스가 주의 목전에 악을 행하여 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄들을 따랐으며 그가 거기서 떠나지 아니하였더라.
13:3 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, all [their] days.
13:3 이스라엘에 대하여 주의 분노가 일어나니, 주께서 시리아의 하사엘왕과 하사엘의 아들 벤하닷의 평생 동안 이스라엘을 그들의 손에 넘겨 주셨더라.
13:4 And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.
13:4 이에 여호아하스가 주께 간구하므로 주께서 그를 들으셨으니, 이는 시리아 왕이 그들을 억압함으로 주께서 이스라엘의 억압당함을 보셨음이더라.
13:5 (And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.
13:5 (주께서 이스라엘에게 한 구원자를 주시어 그들이 시리아인들의 손에서 벗어났으니, 이스라엘 자손이 이전과 같이 그들의 장막에서 거하였더라.
13:6 Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, [but] walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.)
13:6 그럼에도 불구하고 그들이 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 여로보암의 집의 죄들에서 떠나지 아니하고 그대로 행하였으며 사마리아에 아세라도 남겨 두었더라.)
13:7 Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.
13:7 시리아 왕이 여호아하스의 백성 중에서 기병 오십과 병거 열 대와 보병 일만 명 외에는 남겨 두지 아니하였으니, 이는 그가 그들을 멸하여 그들을 타작마당의 티끌같이 만들었음이라.
13:8 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
13:8 여호아하스의 나머지 행적과 그가 행한 모든 것과 그의 권세가 이스라엘 왕들의 역대서에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐?
13:9 And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead.
13:9 여호아하스가 그의 조상들과 함께 잠드니 사람들이 그를 사마리에 장사했으며, 그의 아들 요아스가 그를 대신하여 왕이 되니라.
13:10 In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] sixteen years.
13:10 유다의 요아스왕 제 삼십칠년에 여호아하스의 아들 여호아스가 사마리아에서 이스라엘을 치리하기 시작하여 십육 년 간 치리하니라.
13:11 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD; he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin: [but] he walked therein.
13:11 그가 주의 목전에 악을 행하여 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 모든 죄에서 떠나지 아니하고 그대로 행하였더라.
13:12 And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
13:12 제 요아스의 나머지 행적과 그가 행한 모든 것과 유다의 아마샤왕과 싸운 그의 권세가 이스라엘 왕들의 역대서에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐?
13:13 And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat upon his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
13:13 요아스가 그의 조상들과 함께 잠드니, 여로보암이 그의 보좌에 앉으니라. 요아스가 이스라엘 왕들과 함께 사마리아에 장사되니라.
13:14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
13:14 이제 엘리사가 병이 들어 죽게 되었는데, 이스라엘 왕 요아스가 그에게 내려와 얼굴에 눈물을 흘리며 말하기를 "오 내 아버지여, 내 아버지여, 이스라엘의 병거와 그 기병들이여." 하자
13:15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.
13:15 엘리사가 그에게 말하기를 "활과 화살들을 취하소서." 하니, 그가 활과 화살들을 취하더라.
13:16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand [upon it]: and Elisha put his hands upon the king's hands.
13:16 그가 이스라엘 왕에게 말하기를 "왕의 손으로 화살을 잡으소서." 하니 그가 자기 손으로 그것을 잡더라. 엘리사가 그의 양 손을 왕의 손에 대고
13:17 And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened [it]. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD'S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed [them].
13:17 말하기를 "동편 창문을 여소서." 하니 그가 창문을 열더라. 그때 엘리사가 말하기를 "쏘소서." 하니 그가 쏘더라. 엘리사가 말하기를 "주의 구원의 화살이요, 시리아로부터 구원하시는 화살이오니, 왕께서는 아벡에서 시리아인들을 치시어 그들을 진멸하시리이다." 하고
13:18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took [them]. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.
13:18 또 그가 말하기를 "화살들을 취하소서." 하니 그가 그것들을 취하더라. 그가 이스라엘 왕에게 말하기를 "땅을 치소서." 하니 왕이 세 번 치고 그치더라.
13:19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed [it]: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria [but] thrice.
13:19 그러므로 하나님의 사람이 왕에게 노하여 말하기를 "왕은 대여섯 번 치셨어야 했나이다. 그랬더라면 왕께서는 시리아를 진멸할 때까지 치셨을 것이나, 이제 왕은 시리아를 단지 세 번 치실 것이니이다." 하더라.
13:20 And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.
13:20 엘리사가 죽으니 사람들이 그를 장사하였는데, 해가 바뀔 때에 모압인들의 군대가 그 땅을 침략하였더라.
13:21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band [of men]; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.
13:21 그때 사람들이 한 사람을 장사하고 있었는데, 보라, 그들이 그 군대를 엿보고 그 사람을 엘리사의 무덤에 던지니, 그 사람이 떨어져 엘리사의 뼈에 닿자 그가 살아나서 자기 발로 서더라.
13:22 But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
13:22 여호아하스의 평생 동안 시리아의 하사엘왕이 이스라엘을 억압하였더라.
13:23 And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.
13:23 그러나 주께서 이스라엘에게 은혜를 베푸시고, 그들을 동정하시고 그들을 유념하셨으니, 이는 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱과 맺은 주의 언약 때문이었더라. 그가 그들을 멸하지 아니하시고 그때까지는 그들을 자신의 임재에서 버리지 아니하셨더라.
13:24 So Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his stead.
13:24 그리하여 시리아의 하사엘왕이 죽으니, 그의 아들 벤하닷이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되니라.
13:25 And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
13:25 여호아하스의 아들 여호아스가 하사엘의 아들 벤하닷의 손에서 성읍들을 다시 찾았으니, 그것들은 하사엘이 전쟁을 해서 그의 아버지 여호아하스의 손에서 빼앗아 간 성읍들이라. 요아스가 그를 세 번 치고 이스라엘의 성읍들을 회복하였더라.

13:2 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.
13:2 여호아하스가 주의 목전에 악을 행하여 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄들을 따랐으며 그가 거기서 떠나지 아니하였더라.
13:3 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, all [their] days.
13:3 이스라엘에 대하여 주의 분노가 일어나니, 주께서 시리아의 하사엘왕과 하사엘의 아들 벤하닷의 평생 동안 이스라엘을 그들의 손에 넘겨 주셨더라.
13:4 And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.
13:4 이에 여호아하스가 주께 간구하므로 주께서 그를 들으셨으니, 이는 시리아 왕이 그들을 억압함으로 주께서 이스라엘의 억압당함을 보셨음이더라.
13:5 (And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.
13:5 (주께서 이스라엘에게 한 구원자를 주시어 그들이 시리아인들의 손에서 벗어났으니, 이스라엘 자손이 이전과 같이 그들의 장막에서 거하였더라.
13:6 Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, [but] walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.)
13:6 그럼에도 불구하고 그들이 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 여로보암의 집의 죄들에서 떠나지 아니하고 그대로 행하였으며 사마리아에 아세라도 남겨 두었더라.)
13:7 Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.
13:7 시리아 왕이 여호아하스의 백성 중에서 기병 오십과 병거 열 대와 보병 일만 명 외에는 남겨 두지 아니하였으니, 이는 그가 그들을 멸하여 그들을 타작마당의 티끌같이 만들었음이라.

13:9 And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead.
13:9 여호아하스가 그의 조상들과 함께 잠드니 사람들이 그를 사마리에 장사했으며, 그의 아들 요아스가 그를 대신하여 왕이 되니라.
13:10 In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] sixteen years.
13:10 유다의 요아스왕 제 삼십칠년에 여호아하스의 아들 여호아스가 사마리아에서 이스라엘을 치리하기 시작하여 십육 년 간 치리하니라.
13:11 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD; he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin: [but] he walked therein.
13:11 그가 주의 목전에 악을 행하여 이스라엘로 죄를 짓게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 모든 죄에서 떠나지 아니하고 그대로 행하였더라.

13:13 And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat upon his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.
13:13 요아스가 그의 조상들과 함께 잠드니, 여로보암이 그의 보좌에 앉으니라. 요아스가 이스라엘 왕들과 함께 사마리아에 장사되니라.
13:14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
13:14 이제 엘리사가 병이 들어 죽게 되었는데, 이스라엘 왕 요아스가 그에게 내려와 얼굴에 눈물을 흘리며 말하기를 "오 내 아버지여, 내 아버지여, 이스라엘의 병거와 그 기병들이여." 하자
13:15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.
13:15 엘리사가 그에게 말하기를 "활과 화살들을 취하소서." 하니, 그가 활과 화살들을 취하더라.
13:16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand [upon it]: and Elisha put his hands upon the king's hands.
13:16 그가 이스라엘 왕에게 말하기를 "왕의 손으로 화살을 잡으소서." 하니 그가 자기 손으로 그것을 잡더라. 엘리사가 그의 양 손을 왕의 손에 대고

13:17 말하기를 "동편 창문을 여소서." 하니 그가 창문을 열더라. 그때 엘리사가 말하기를 "쏘소서." 하니 그가 쏘더라. 엘리사가 말하기를 "주의 구원의 화살이요, 시리아로부터 구원하시는 화살이오니, 왕께서는 아벡에서 시리아인들을 치시어 그들을 진멸하시리이다." 하고
13:18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took [them]. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.
13:18 또 그가 말하기를 "화살들을 취하소서." 하니 그가 그것들을 취하더라. 그가 이스라엘 왕에게 말하기를 "땅을 치소서." 하니 왕이 세 번 치고 그치더라.
13:19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed [it]: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria [but] thrice.
13:19 그러므로 하나님의 사람이 왕에게 노하여 말하기를 "왕은 대여섯 번 치셨어야 했나이다. 그랬더라면 왕께서는 시리아를 진멸할 때까지 치셨을 것이나, 이제 왕은 시리아를 단지 세 번 치실 것이니이다." 하더라.
13:20 And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.
13:20 엘리사가 죽으니 사람들이 그를 장사하였는데, 해가 바뀔 때에 모압인들의 군대가 그 땅을 침략하였더라.

13:22 But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.
13:22 여호아하스의 평생 동안 시리아의 하사엘왕이 이스라엘을 억압하였더라.

13:24 그리하여 시리아의 하사엘왕이 죽으니, 그의 아들 벤하닷이 그를 대신하여 왕이 되니라.
13:25 And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
13:25 여호아하스의 아들 여호아스가 하사엘의 아들 벤하닷의 손에서 성읍들을 다시 찾았으니, 그것들은 하사엘이 전쟁을 해서 그의 아버지 여호아하스의 손에서 빼앗아 간 성읍들이라. 요아스가 그를 세 번 치고 이스라엘의 성읍들을 회복하였더라.
