2:1 Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, [there was] a man with a measuring line in his hand.
2:2 Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
2:2 So I said, "Where are you going?" And he said to me, "To measure Jerusalem, to see how wide it is and how long it is."
2:3 And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
2:3 And behold, the angel who was speaking with me was going out, and another angel was coming out to meet him,
2:4 and said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, by reason of the multitude of men and cattle therein.
2:4 and said to him, "Run, speak to that young man, saying, 'Jerusalem will be inhabited without walls, because of the multitude of men and cattle within it.
2:5 For I, saith Jehovah, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.
2:5 'For I,' declares the LORD, 'will be a wall of fire around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.' "
2:6 Ho, ho, flee from the land of the north, saith Jehovah; for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, saith Jehovah.

2:8 For thus says the LORD of hosts, "After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.
2:9 For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they shall be a spoil to those that served them; and ye shall know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me.
2:9 "For behold, I will wave My hand over them, so that they will be plunder for their slaves. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me.
2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith Jehovah.
2:10 "Sing for joy and be glad, O daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will dwell in your midst," declares the LORD.
2:11 And many nations shall join themselves to Jehovah in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that Jehovah of hosts has sent me unto thee.
2:11 "And many nations will join themselves to the LORD in that day and will become My people. Then I will dwell in your midst, and you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.

2:12 "And the LORD will possess Judah as His portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.
2:13 Be silent, all flesh, before Jehovah; for he is waked up out of his holy habitation.
2:13 "Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for He is aroused from His holy habitation."
