12:1 The word of Jehovah also came unto me, saying,
12:1 Then the word of the LORD came to me saying,
12:2 Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of the rebellious house, that have eyes to see, and see not, that have ears to hear, and hear not; for they are a rebellious house.
12:2 "Son of man, you live in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.
12:3 Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.
12:3 "Therefore, son of man, prepare for yourself baggage for exile and go into exile by day in their sight; even go into exile from your place to another place in their sight. Perhaps they will understand though they are a rebellious house.
12:4 And thou shalt bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing; and thou shalt go forth thyself at even in their sight, as when men go forth into exile.
12:4 "And bring your baggage out by day in their sight, as baggage for exile. Then you will go out at evening in their sight, as those going into exile.
12:5 Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.
12:5 "Dig a hole through the wall in their sight and go out through it.
12:6 In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulder, and carry it forth in the dark; thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the land: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.
12:6 "Load [the baggage] on [your] shoulder in their sight, [and] carry [ it] out in the dark. You shall cover your face so that you can not see the land, for I have set you as a sign to the house of Israel."
12:7 And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for removing, and in the even I digged through the wall with my hand; I brought it forth in the dark, and bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.
12:7 And I did so, as I had been commanded. By day I brought out my baggage like the baggage of an exile. Then in the evening I dug through the wall with my hands; I went out in the dark [and] carried [the baggage] on [my] shoulder in their sight.
12:8 And in the morning came the word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
12:8 And in the morning the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
12:9 Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?
12:9 "Son of man, has not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said to you, 'What are you doing?'
12:10 Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: This burden (concerneth) the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel among whom they are.
12:10 "Say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD," This burden [concerns] the prince in Jerusalem, as well as all the house of Israel who are in it. "'
12:11 Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them; they shall go into exile, into captivity.
12:11 "Say, 'I am a sign to you. As I have done, so it will be done to them; they will go into exile, into captivity.'
12:12 And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the dark, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, because he shall not see the land with his eyes.
12:12 "And the prince who is among them will load [his baggage] on [his] shoulder in the dark and go out. They will dig a hole through the wall to bring [it] out. He will cover his face so that he can not see the land with [his] eyes.
12:13 My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare; and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.
12:13 "I shall also spread My net over him, and he will be caught in My snare. And I shall bring him to Babylon in the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will not see it, though he will die there.
12:14 And I will scatter toward every wind all that are round about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.
12:14 "And I shall scatter to every wind all who are around him, his helpers and all his troops; and I shall draw out a sword after them.
12:15 And they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall disperse them among the nations, and scatter them through the countries.
12:15 "So they will know that I am the LORD when I scatter them among the nations, and spread them among the countries.
12:16 But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the nations whither they come; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
12:16 "But I shall spare a few of them from the sword, the famine, and the pestilence that they may tell all their abominations among the nations where they go, and may know that I am the LORD."
12:17 Moreover the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
12:17 Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me saying,
12:18 Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with fearfulness;
12:18 "Son of man, eat your bread with trembling, and drink your water with quivering and anxiety.
12:19 and say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the land of Israel: They shall eat their bread with fearfulness, and drink their water in dismay, that her land may be desolate, (and despoiled) of all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.
12:19 "Then say to the people of the land, 'Thus says the Lord GOD concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the land of Israel," They will eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water with horror, because their land will be stripped of its fulness on account of the violence of all who live in it.
12:20 And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be a desolation; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.
12:20 "And the inhabited cities will be laid waste, and the land will be a desolation. So you will know that I am the LORD." '"
12:21 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
12:21 Then the word of the LORD came to me saying,
12:22 Son of man, what is this proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?
12:22 "Son of man, what is this proverb you [people] have concerning the land of Israel, saying, 'The days are long and every vision fails'?
12:23 Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the fulfilment of every vision.
12:23 "Therefore say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD," I will make this proverb cease so that they will no longer use it as a proverb in Israel. "But tell them," The days draw near as well as the fulfillment of every vision.
12:24 For there shall be no more any false vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.
12:24 "For there will no longer be any false vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel.
12:25 For I am Jehovah; I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall be performed; it shall be no more deferred: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I speak the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord Jehovah.
12:25 "For I the LORD shall speak, and whatever word I speak will be performed. It will no longer be delayed, for in your days, O rebellious house, I shall speak the word and perform it," declares the Lord GOD. '"
12:26 Again the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,
12:26 Furthermore, the word of the LORD came to me saying,
12:27 Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many day to come, and he prophesieth of times that are far off.
12:27 "Son of man, behold, the house of Israel is saying, 'The vision that he sees is for many years [from now,] and he prophesies of times far off.'
12:28 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: There shall none of my words be deferred any more, but the word which I shall speak shall be performed, saith the Lord Jehovah.
12:28 "Therefore say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD," None of My words will be delayed any longer. Whatever word I speak will be performed, "' "declares the Lord GOD.

12:9 Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?
12:9 "Son of man, has not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said to you, 'What are you doing?'
12:10 Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: This burden (concerneth) the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel among whom they are.
12:10 "Say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD," This burden [concerns] the prince in Jerusalem, as well as all the house of Israel who are in it. "'
12:11 Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them; they shall go into exile, into captivity.

12:13 My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare; and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.
12:13 "I shall also spread My net over him, and he will be caught in My snare. And I shall bring him to Babylon in the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will not see it, though he will die there.

12:19 and say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the land of Israel: They shall eat their bread with fearfulness, and drink their water in dismay, that her land may be desolate, (and despoiled) of all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.
12:19 "Then say to the people of the land, 'Thus says the Lord GOD concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the land of Israel," They will eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water with horror, because their land will be stripped of its fulness on account of the violence of all who live in it.
