23:1 [A Psalm of David.]
The LORD is my shepherd,
I will not be in need.
23:2 He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside ①quiet waters.
▷ ①Lit waters of rest
23:3 He restores my soul;
He guides me in the ①paths of righteousness
For the sake of His name.
▷ ①Lit tracks
23:4 Even though I walk through the ①valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no ②evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
▷ ①Or valley of deep darkness ②Or harm
23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You ①have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
▷ ①Or anoint
23:6 ①Certainly goodness and ②faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life,
And my dwelling will be in the house of the LORD ③forever.
▷ ①Or Only ②Or mercy ③Lit for length of days
