▷ ①Heb YHWH, usually rendered LORD ②Lit go ③Lit son of acquisition
15:3 Abram also said, “ ①Since You have given me no ②son, ③one who has been born in my house is my heir.”
▷ ①Lit Behold ②Lit seed ③Lit then behold, a son of my
15:4 Then behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one who will come from your own ①body shall be your heir.”
▷ ①Lit inward parts
15:5 And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your ①descendants be.”

15:13 Then God said to Abram, “Know for certain that your ①descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, ②where they will be enslaved and oppressed for four hundred years.
▷ ①Lit seed ②Lit and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them

15:17 Now it came about, when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, a smoking oven and a flaming torch appeared which passed between these pieces.
